You Can Now Search Using Your Voice On Google Maps

Seems like the Google Maps team is on a roll these days. After adding a weather layer on Google Maps (which I think is quite an useful feature), they have now added voice search. That means you just need to say it when you want to search something on Google Maps.

If you remember our highlights from Google Inside Search post, we talked about the voice search feature that Google introduced on its main search site. That feature has now been extended to the search bar on Google Maps, and is currently only available for Chrome browser users.

You could also use the Earth layer and quickly fly to a particular location in the map using the voice search feature.

When I was a kid (hell, even now!) I tried to play with my friends by asking them to spell difficult words like Czechoslovakia (wait, did I spell that right?..yeah, yeah I know that’s not a single country anymore but still). This Google Maps feature is going to be a great help in trying to locate such places. From now on, you just need to speak the name instead of trying to type it in the maps search bar.

The feature is still rolling out and will take sometime before it is available to every Chrome user around the globe.
