YouTube, as you know, is the biggest online repository of videos. And they aren’t limited to particular time period. Believe it or not, you can find videos as old as when this thing called video started, on this site. And this is what YouTube Time Machine wants people to access and watch easily.

YouTube Time Machine is unique site with a simple and intuitive interface that lets people browse through and watch popular videos from history. I really like its user interface and the way the site lets you jump to a video in any time period between 1860 and 2010.

As you see in the above screenshot, there is a horizontal slider that has different years listed on it. You point it to a particular year and it will show a well known video from that time. You can also set it to auto-play.

The right sidebar has various options for you to explore. You could randomly play another video from the same year and filter videos based on different categories. The categories available are video games, television, commercials, current events, sports, movies and music.

You can also quickly add a video to their collection by clicking on “Add a video” button at the bottom.

The site doesn’t require you to register and you can start using the slider and watching videos immediately. Overall, a nice, fun site to spend some time on when you are in video watching mood.
