The Google eBookstore was launched last December with much fanfare. And unlike some Google products, this wasn’t a launch-and-forget case. They recently introduced some enhancements to the online e-reader which included features like dictionary and translate.

Now, we have a physical e-reader like Amazon Kindle available exclusively for Google ebooks. Called the Iriver Story HD reader, this device was launched this July 17 and was made available for sale in Target stores across the United States and online on Target.com. The price – $139.99.

The device comes with a QWERTY keyboard to help you search easily through the ebooks. Manufactured by Iriver, the device offers a high-resolution E Ink screen that makes reading comfortable for your eyes.

I am not sure if there’s a 3G option available, but you can use this device to get Google ebooks wirelessly over Wi-Fi. So you don’t need to physically connect it with the computer in order to transfer the ebooks.

Overall, if you have been regularly buying ebooks from the Google ebookstore, or reading the free ones that are available there, then you might want to purchase this device to have them at your fingertips whenever you’re traveling or at anywhere else that’s far from your computer.
