I’m pleased to announce our first WordPress plugin – Shared Items Post

This plugin enables you to automatically post your Google Reader shared items to your blog on a schedule you set (daily, weekly, monthly).

Just about everything is configurable – post title, category, author, header, footer, etc, etc. You can see some of these different options in my sample posts here and here.

I think it is a great way to generate useful blog content without any additional work. Give it a try and let me know what you think in the forums.

    That’s a useful plugin – I’ve written about it on my blog (see my link).

    Nice work.
    A bug with simple pie core (plugin) is fixed by changing line 14 in ‘shared-items-post.php’ to require_once(WP_PLUGIN_DIR.’/simplepie-core/simplepie.inc’);

    Maybe the author should check for that (fairly common lib/plugin) and use it if available. It is a good thing ;)

    And a feature request. Variables for name and top level link for the originating blog.

    %ORIGIN% could expand to ReadWriteWeb and

    %ORIGINURL% to http://www.readwriteweb.com/

    Hi Joakim,

    Thanks very much for the ideas! I want to get more feedback before we work on the next version, but I’ll definitely add your ideas to the list :)

    1. If possible please manage an way which will show title and website url+authors name.

    2. Fixed time – that means it should be work exactly at 6 AM or 6 PM( depends on user’s setup). I checked and found whenever I’m sharing anything it’s posting an blog posts. It’s not good. Per share one posts.

    3. Need to attach some stylish view. Such as classic, default or anything new.

    I’ll write more if I get any ideas.
