How Synchronized Do You Want Your Browser?
Google Chrome’s most unique quality is the ability for it to synchronize personal settings with one’s Google Account. This meant that no matter what computer you were using, as long as you browsed using Chrome and signed into your Google Account, you could access your bookmarks. As Chrome has upgraded this has also spread to making themes, extensions, autofill, preferences, and apps transferable and mobile with a Google Account. Now it is possible to customize your synchronization settings and choose what type of features you want to be associated with your Account through Chrome.
How to configure what features are synced
- Firstly, click on the small wrench icon in the upper right of the browser window.
- Select ‘Options’ from the drop-down menu.
- Select the ‘Personal Stuff’ tab.
- Click the ‘Customize…’ button and get the window shown in the screenshot below:
What should be synchronized?
Here you can choose if you wish for all possible features to be synchronized, or just a select few. Remember to click the ‘OK’ button when done. It may take a few seconds for Chrome to sync. Afterwards, it is a good idea to check for things like redundant extensions to uninstall.
Do you use multiple computers with Chrome? How useful do you find the sync function? Please let us at GT know in the comments section.

When I log off from Google account, I don’t want my Chrome sync with my Google bookmarks as its a family PC each time it should sync different account.
