Yesterday Google announced that it had updated the look of its Google Translate tool. According to the Google Translate blog, the company is in the process of rolling out various changes that will improve both the look and feel of the tool. If you log onto the service now you may or may not see the update. If not – do not fear! The update is still in progress and should be completed shortly.
Google says that the new update will make the process of translating documents, webpages and text even easier than it already is.
So what are the changes?
Well, for starters a new ‘Do more with Google Translate’ page has been created, which lists some of the more lesser-known functions that can be carried out on the translator. For example, users can view tips on how to use Google Translate on a smartphone, or how to translate incoming email in Gmail.
For those of you who are wondering how Google Translate actually works, a new ‘Inside Google Translate’ page has been created, which will tell you precisely how the system works – an interesting video on the subject can be watched, which we recommend.
Of course, the first immediate change you will notice when arriving at the new Google translate page is that it looks a lot brighter, friendlier and less sterile. It certainly makes the homepage a lot more appealing and welcoming to users of the service.
