Google Translate Can’t Do It All

How would you translate the sound of a burp or a growling stomach?  What about a sneeze?  Stumped?  Well, so is Google Translate.

Believe it or not, there are some things that the cool Google program just can’t translate into the spoken word.  Sure, Google Translate can translate more than 50 different languages including Yiddish, Afrikaans, Spanish, and some of the lesser-known languages out there, but it definitely cannot decipher some of the world’s more interesting sounds.

Starting this week, the guys over at Google are going to release five different videos of things that Google Translate just can’t translate.  Though, that’s not to say that it won’t soon be able to put certain sounds into words.  Depending on what they come up with, these videos are sure to cause a few laughs.

The fun doesn’t stop with these five videos.  Google is asking people like you to pitch in and share some of the things you wish Google Translate could do.  Some of the more amusing ideas include your pet hamster, a dog’s bark, or even someone’s math homework!  Go ahead and think of something you wish Google could translate and tweet it.  Don’t forget to tag it with #GoogleTranslate.

They’ll make a video of at least one of the ideas.  We can’t wait to see what you guys come up with.  Has anyone submitted their ideas?  Let us know!
