Google Shared Spaces Helps You Use Wave’s Gadgets For Easy Collaboration
Although Google decided to stop work on the Wave project due to escalating costs and not-so-encouraging user growth, Wave did have a small but loyal user base. And there was absolutely no doubt in anyone’s mind that it was an incredible tool…ahead of its time may be.
Now, Google has decided to make use of all those amazing gadgets which one could add to his Wave for better collaboration. And the result is Google Shared Spaces. It uses Wave gadget technology to create shared spaces that facilitate task or event oriented collaboration.

You’ll find a number of gadgets that are already there, all organized under different sections like planning, productivity, games and polls.
Creating a shared space is simple. Just hit the create a space button below any gadget and sign in with your Google, Twitter or Yahoo account to get started. You could easily share that space with friends using the shared space URL that it generates.

The above screenshot shows a simple shared space that helps in organizing an event. There are many different gadgets that could help you create such spaces. Like, there’s a drawing board gadget to help you draw on a whiteboard with fellow collaborators. You also play games, plan meetings, create mindmaps and do much more using these gadgets.
If you are developer and know Javascript, creating unique spaces of your own isn’t that difficult either.
I think I like the way Google has decided to put to use all those Wave gadgets. Isolating each of them makes it easy and useful. What do you think?

I think that these could be great useful collaborative and social tools. It would be great if these tools could be embedded on websites and available as Android APIs to be used in Android apps.
The limitation is not being able to use this at work as you can only log in with gmail, yahoo or twitter accounts.
