Google Reader, In Your Language [automagically]

The Google Reader team announced that they launched a new feature which will automagically translate a feed into your own language. This is huge!

If you’re reading this feed and your native language is, for example, Spanish, you may want this feed translated automagically into Spanish so you can more easily read it. Obviously, it will not be a perfect translation as no computer generated translation is perfect, but it’s far better than reading it in English.

But the flip side is true as well. If there’s a feed in, let’s say Swedish, and your native language is English, but there’s some seriously great content being written, subscribe and have it translated into your own language.

This is a great universal tool for Google Reader which I think actually separates it from the rest of the rss readers out there.

Please note, this is a feature that was done as part of the 20% time during someone’s work day.

    I’m finding this pretty useful

I haven’t yet had an opportunity to use it because I haven’t found (or been suggested) a feed that was in another language, worth subscribing to. Hopefully I’ll get to use it at some point in the future though.
