Google Profiles Gets a New Look With an Overhauled Interface
Remember Google Profiles? Well, you have one but probably never bothered to take a second look at it after you spruced it up a bit the last time Google introduced some new features there. The situation is likely to change from now on though.
Google has introduced some major design changes to Google Profiles. And I have to say that the new interface – though inspired from the myriad social profile sites out there – is refreshing.

To give you an overview of what the new Google profiles would look like, take a look at the sample profile page below.

You see how everything is neatly organized? Profile info is there on the right of the page, just below the profile pic. And on the left of the page, the About section has an image scrapbook to begin with and more detailed info about the person as you scroll down.
The links section is there too along with a separate tab for Google Buzz activity of that person.
The nice thing about this new profile is that it makes editing real easy. I was trying to edit my profile, and it was all quite smooth. You just need to click on a section to start editing it.

I clicked on the links section to add a link to one of my sites, and it immediately popped up a box with various fields for adding the link.

You don’t need brains to guess that this new avatar of Google Profiles bears a striking resemblance to Facebook Profile design. I don’t think I’d take a dig at Google for this. After all, what’s the harm in getting inspired from the leader in this space.
So, like the new Google Profiles?

aUnfortunately, still doesn’t work with Google Apps accounts. The Google Apps “unified account” transition is taking them forever, it seems.
