The Google Nexus One phone may not have lived up to the expectations, but the Android operating system certainly has. It continues to grow at a breathtaking space with a huge number of mobile phone operators around the world willing to adopt it for their latest mobile handsets.

Sensing this enthusiasm around Android, Google has launched what it calls Google Phone Gallery, an online showcase of all kinds of Android based phones.

Google Phone Gallery intends to help consumers decide which Android phone to purchase. The site is divided into 3 horizontal panes. On the left you’ll find a list of manufacturers, operators and countries where you can buy the phone. It includes the major countries where Android is available, however more countries need to be added and as per Google, they will be added to that list soon.

The middle pane lists the phones in the newest or alphabetical order. Clicking on a phone takes you to handset details screen which has all kinds of information about the phone, including various technical specifications. You can also directly buy the phone from an operator by clicking the corresponding button on this page.

You could also click the “add to compare” button on the homepage which is there beside each phone and then see how the two handsets stand against each other.

Overall, if you are considering purchasing an Android phone and not sure which handset you should go with, this is a must-visit site for you.
