Going by the number of features Google has added to Google+ after its recent launch, it is unlikely that this service will end up like Buzz or sink into oblivion anytime soon as some experts have predicted. So, on an optimistic and enthusiastic note, lets talk about the 2 new additions to Google+ that you will soon get to use.

Google+ Ripples

If you have ever watched a TED talk by Han Rosling (you should if you haven’t yet) then you would know about the magic of data ripples and how cool they can look. Google+ Ripples is like that. It helps you visualize data in a non-boring way.

You can watch how a post is being shared, commented on, liked and who’s doing it most, all in a timelapse video, the way Hans Rosling shows it in his talks. You could also play with the image, zoom into specific ripples and see more sharing stats.

To view ripples for a post, just select the option from the drop-down menu on the right of the post title. Applies only to public posts.

Google+ Creative Kit

Photos are a significant part of any social network and the more the network can tempt the audience to spend time on them while they are on the network, the more likely it is for them to come back to that network. Google+ knows that and it has introduced Creative Kit to facilitate that. Users can now add cool effects to their photos right inside Google+.

Be it vintage look, a halloween effect, better contrast.. just about any photo effect you can imagine and you are likely to get it in the creative kit.

So, what do you think about these 2 new Google+ features? Would you use it more from now on?
