Google Hires Lawyer for Music Service

As you may have already heard, Google is planning on launching Google Music service in the very near future. In light of the most recent set of negotiations, the guys at Google have decided to bring on some legal professionals to back them up. They have now hired Elizabeth Moody, an innovative and highly respected music attorney.
Moody has extensive experience in the music . She previously worked for Davis, Shapiro, Lewit, & Hayes and specialized in digital music. The firm was known for its representation of digital music services and other online venues such as MySpace Music, iMeem, iLike, Bebo, and Spotify.
Though you probably already know that Google introduced a music search service in 2009, Google Music proves to be much more ambitious. It will likely compete directly with the likes of iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, emusic, and other music services. Google’s new service will include streaming music, which is why Google will need all the legal help they can get.
The major record labels have very different ideas about streaming music, perhaps because they have lost so much money since the inception of digital music. They seem to disagree with each service over how long a free trial period should last, what the terms will be, and what requirements the service may have for credit cards. Additionally, one of the other main issues in the negotiations is the pricing, but this is precisely why Google have employed the services of Moody.
