When Google Goggles was first introduced for Android in 2009, the app, especially the concept and technology behind it, received good feedback from experts as well as the general crowd. Google later also came up with Google Goggles for iPhone.

We know that Google’s engineers usually don’t just like to rest on their laurels. Hence, we now have a new version of Google Goggles (version 1.3) for Android phones that has enhanced functionality and can even solve Sudoko!

The new version of Goggles offers faster barcode scanning that can help you scan product barcodes or QR codes and produce relevant information without the need to tap extra buttons. Just hover your phone over the code to let the camera get a glimpse of it and the results come up soon enough. You can check product reviews and price comparison.

Google Goggles can now scan images in print ads and magazines, and show search results for that product. Yes, just scan that picture of a bridal dress or a shoe in that ad, and let Goggles do the rest.

Overall, it’s a new and improved Google Goggles. Oh, and regarding the part about solving Sudoku puzzles. Yes, the app can now help you with Sudoku answers. And in case you are too lazy to play on, just scan the entire puzzle and see how Google Goggles solves the entire puzzle effortlessly.

Here’s a demo video of Google Goggles solving a Sudoku puzzle.
