Google Docs Presentations Now Has Some Cool New Features
I gave an overview of the new Google Docs interface a few days ago. Google Docs team has been introducing new additions and feature improvements steadily but for some reason, the focus always has been on the spreadsheets and documents part of the Docs. So when Google Docs announced some days ago that they’ve revamped Google presentations with some cool new features, I was excited and decided to share it with you guys here.

The new features mainly focus on making presentations collaborative by helping teams across the world work easily on a single presentation, and adding more beauty to the online presentations which are created using Google Docs.
You can now collaborate on a presentation with built-in chat, revision history, simultaneous editing etc, just like you did in Google spreadsheets.

Now coming to the “adding beauty” part, Google has added a number of features to make your presentations more lively. There are new themes, transitions that help you add 3D effects, animations (long awaited feature), drawings which include designs and charts (finally), rich tables and much more.

Overall, this definitely is a much needed makeover for Google Presentations and should push the regular Docs users, who confine their activities to Google spreadsheets and documents, to try out the online tool for making presentations too.
The new stuff is being rolled out gradually but if you can’t wait, you could request access by going to Document Settings on the top right of your Docs interface, and under Editing, click “Create new presentations using the latest version of the presentation editor.” Also keep in mind that these new features demand that you ditch old versions of your browsers and migrate to the latest ones.
