    #6. - #10. It is Friday...

In all seriousness though, my name is John and I am so busy lately that I've long ago suspended my on going marketing writing at http://www.10minutes.org. I do have a rebuild in the works but haven't commissioned it yet until I can seriously recommit to it.

I am also the creator of http://www.bloggingmothers.com which my wife and I thought up. It is a social network for mothers that is slowly growing and has been a lot of fun to develop and promote.

I've been working the Internet Marketing industry for almost seven years now and have no intentions of going anywhere unless I win the lottery but since I maybe buy one or two tickets a year... I'll be here for awhile. My primary markets of interest and experience are vacation rental and real estate based websites.

I live and play in Riverside California and work in Anahiem. I however didn't grow up in Southern California, I grew up in South Lake Tahoe which is where I started my career path with marketing vacation rental properties.

My wife and I have a little boy who, at the time of this writing, is starting to crawl, sit and even stand with the assistance of something to hold on to. He is the joy of our lives during the day and little terror at night that helps keep places like Starbucks in business.

  2. Hi John, welcome :)

nice intro, probably the best one so far! 7 yrs makes you almost old school in this industry, I've been in for over 13!!

  3. Old school? I think of Danny Sullivan, Bruce Clay and heck even Eric Ward. However I certainly understand what you meant by the comment; I've sure seen many people jump in and quickly jump out.

This industry is simply not meant for the faint at heart or those that lack the ability to step outside of the rigorous 9 - 5 and go home type jobs.

If 7 years makes me almost old school and you have 13 then I'd say you are definitely old school. 13 years ago I was 15 and a freshman at college; it would have been two years later before I bought my first computer and wasted another year or two away on online chat and games before I get my head out of my... and decided to do something serious with my life.

I'm glad to be hear and hope to see this community grow. If you need some purposeful word of mouth placement you should ask Jeremy aka footinmouth for some promotional ideas. He certainly has climbed far above my abilities or interest in utilizing social media to promote websites and is damned good at it for not being an old school marketer like you and I.

  4. yes I'm old school, I used to work with Danny a bit *before* SEW existed :)

as far as promotional ideas/social media tips thanks but I don't think I need them, that's what I've been doing since 1995 or so :)
