&#60;p&#62;I set the Refresh period to daily and the Time to 05:00 AM. This works fine unless I haven't added any shared items in Google Reader within one day. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Then there's no new post in the morning (which is correct). But immediately after adding the first shared item the next day a post with just that one item is generated. I wish it would keep that until the next regularly scheduled time in the next morning.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Wordpress version 2.6 and 2.7.&#60;br /&#62;

&#60;p&#62;go to write a post and look just below the Save button, the server time will show there once you enter some text in the post. that is the time you should use to set your schedule correctly.
