BOTW Review

Next to Yahoo! and DMOZ, Best of the Web (BOTW) is one of the oldest most respected directories on the web. But it remains somewhat of an undiscovered secret so I thought I’d give it a quick review.

Why BOTW is worth getting listed in:

1. It is still trusted by Google, while many directories are not
2. It can send a nice steady stream of direct traffic, which reduces your reliance on search engines
   
3. Often times your competitors won’t be listed there, which is an advantage to you
4. You can get more than one listing if you have a web site and blog
   
5. It’s very affordable, especially if you can take advantage of a promo code or coupon

I list all my sites there along with those of my clients and the traffic alone is worth the cost. The added benefit of a little link juice and site trust coming through as well is just icing on the cake.
