A Guide to Good Business Listing Titles
If you’ve got a business listing in Google Places, chances are you want people to be able to find your information quickly and easily. The free Google Places listings allow you to connect with your potential clients and customers when they search for services you provide locally. The guys over at Google have offered up a slew of new tips to make the most of your listings. Check these out!
First of all, if you have a listing you need to make sure that the information is completely accurate. This may very well be the most important tip of all. You want to make sure that your address, phone number, email, and website are all completely accurate. If not, how will your prospective customers find you?
Once you’ve made sure your listing information is as up-to-date as possible, take a look at your title. It should be clean and easy to read. The title should be your business’ company name. This is not a time to be creative! If you don’t use your actual business name you run the risk of having Google ban or suspend your listing. Here’s what to avoid in your title:
- Descriptors and Keywords
- Location Names
- Phone Numbers and URLs
- Capitalization and Punctuation
So, next time you check out your Business Listing in Google Places, you may want to double check your title. Google doesn’t mess around when it comes to its guidelines, so you’ll want to review them in detail before making any edits.
