60 Minutes Comes to YouTube
Do you watch “60 Minutes” on CBS? If so, we’ve got some good news for you. The Emmy-award winning news program has decided to launch its own YouTube channel for fans just like you. The show has been a Sunday night staple for decades, so it really is about time it expanded to the web.
The way it works is pretty simple. Basically, if you missed any story on Sunday night, you can visit the 60 Minutes YouTube channel on Monday morning to catch what you missed. There will also be an archive of previous shows implemented onto the site, allowing you to reference them later as well.
But, because YouTube is also a community of viewers, the 60 Minutes channel will also be a hub of vibrant discussion. Viewers are free to put their feedback on videos, and comment on what they think about the most recent stories and features. User feedback, comments, and questions will all be a part of a new program called “Ask 60 Minutes”, and the correspondents from the show will respond directly.
“Ask 60 Minutes” will work similar to many of YouTube’s other Q&A programs. You can upload a video (which has to be 60 seconds long), and vote on other videos already submitted. Of course, users who prefer not to use video can opt to use plain text instead. Some of the top-voted responses may actually get airtime on the TV show.
We’re wondering if Andy Rooney will make any comments on the show about the new YouTube channel.
