forwarded your article FROM my recipient main gmail inbox (as you describe ive been utilizing for year here for 12 diff email adds ;-).. back to myself.. yet BE AWARE..... re your claimed ...

"Finally, you can actually hide the fact that you’re using Gmail, because you can actually set up a custom “From:” email address"

...is not so! ;]].. note in the original email header below.. even in the gui gmail if one chooses message 'details' one will see

MIME-Version: 1.0

Sender: MAINgmailACCTinboxREPLYINGfrom@gmail.com

Reply-To: GMAILacctONEwantsREPLIEDtoALIASfrom@gmail.com
(NOT hiding gmail main inbox AT ALL ;-)

FYI CLEARLY accessible in original message headers!!!

i have even seen some webmail headers clearly displaying...

'''sent on behalf of MAINgmailACCTinboxREPLYINGfrom@gmail.com; please reply to GMAILacctONEwantsREPLIEDtoALIASfrom@gmail.com'''

...in their html headers without even loading details too!

"Finally, you can actually hide the fact that you’re using Gmail, because you can actually set up a custom “From:” email address."

That´s actually not quite true. Yes, you can set up a custom "From:" address but in most e-mail clients out there your Gmail address will still show up as the "Sender:" address. Google is working on a solution for this but in the meantime this feature is pretty useless IMO.

Nice. Or you can try OtherInbox.com
It does basically the same, but it natively supports creating more mailboxes. Perfect as second address and/or spam address.
