Google Image Ripper makes image search even easier
You love Google Image Search? It’s hard not to do so. Google Image Search has revolutionized the way we search for images. The very easy way to search for information at Google (and subsequently applying the same principle to image search) made things easy for us people who are desperate for that perfect image to use on our PowerPoint presentations, blog entries (just make sure we steer clear of copyright infringement, huh, guys?), and, well, it’s also a perfect way to pass the time.
But sometimes, searching for the perfect image can be a little cumbersome, especially when you have to sort out those thumbnails. I usually don’t mind, but if you have to sort through hundreds of these thumbnails that usually don’t give you a good idea of what you’re looking at, it’s going to be tiring.
This is where Dear Computer’s Google Image Ripper (GIR) comes in handy. With a tagline that touts “No more thumbnails, straight to the good stuff,” this site basically sifts through results from a google query and displays images using a direct link.
Or if you want it to be more direct, Google Image Ripper “rips” images that matches your search query, and presents the results in their actual size. No more pesky thumbnails!
But the most awesome thing that’s going on for Google Image Ripper would be the filters- as with Google Image Search, you can change the size of the results, but with more options (icon, small, medium, large, xlarge, xxlarge, huge). You can even choose the image types (face, news, clipart, lineart, photo) without doing URL tweaks.

Now if you’re really getting the hang of Google Image Ripper, I suggest you get the Greasemonkey userscript that runs the script in your browser (as opposed to having it run on DearComputer.nl’s servers) that will really speed up your image search results, and will not be subject to server limitations (no more sluggishness when practically the whole internet is using it).
Now that I’ve shown you what this nifty little webapp can do, tell me what you think of it!
