Google Trends new website comparison feature is a great way to research a web site so I made another bookmarklet to make it a little more convenient to use.

Bookmarklet: Google Trends Websites

This bookmarklet will grab the domain of the page you are viewing and then load it into Google Trends in a new window or tab. Making it really quick and easy to get a view of a site’s overall performance.

I actually stole the idea got inspiration from Steve Rubel’s version but his didn’t open trends in a new window/tab which I wanted, and it also passed the complete URL to trends which isn’t needed so I adjusted the code so it just passes the domain.

Special thanks to Matt Cutts and his tutorial on creating bookmarklets.

thanks! site age doesn’t matter too much I don’t think, the key is traffic volume. and this isn’t as much for your own site as it is for checking others.

Get a javascript error in IE on this page and can’t drag bookmarklet.
