Desktop wallpapers are great tools to make your digital workspace a little “homey”. I often use nature desktop wallpapers if I’d like to kickback and relax, sports photos if I’m at work and Bible verses to soothe and remind me of heavenly things. Everytime I needed a change of desktop “scenery” I’d go to the internet to search for great desktop wallpapers.

Picasa offers a great way to make personalized desktop wallpapers. It’s the COLLAGE tool of Picasa, (if you don’t have Picasa2 yet, you can download it here) and it uses your own photos even.

Follow these simple steps to make your own:

STEP 1: Open your Picasa2 application and browse to the folder where your photos are.

STEP 2: Select at least 8 photos you want to be part of your desktop collage. (hold down the control or shift key for multiple selections), and press the COLLAGE button below.

STEP 3: From the pop-up window choose TYPE=COLLAGE, OPTIONS=Your background color, LOCATION=Choose a folder… then press the “create button”.

Now you have a desktop wallpaper full of your own sets of photos! Neat eh?

    Hi,

I couldn’t get the complete wallpaper , as shown in collage. photos are half shown in actual desktop i.e. the are half missing on the edges. say I have choosen 9 photos and make a collage .
and then make it a wallpaper . Now the border photos of collage are hardly half shown or even fully missing , I might be seeing 3 full photos and 6 half photos on my desktop wallaper ( ofcourse the collage itself is perfectly fine, unlike the wallpaper) .
    how to resolve.

i am not choosing the pile option. but the full screen one ( don’t remember the name).

pls reply on my email too.

    regards,
    Pradeep
