GMail Tip: Remote Sign Off
Not that I’m really proud of it, but there have been many times I’ve caught myself forgetting to log-off from my gmail accounts. To make matters worse, I forget it EVEN when I use friend’s and the office’s workstations! Oh my, I know this poses a real security risk. I’ve been using GMail as my trusty webmail provider for years and the personal data there are have just accumulated to make me worry if someone is able to read them.
Fortunately, GMail has just announced that they’ve developed a “remote log-off” tool to help me log that GMail window/sessions I’ve forgotten to log out from. Here’s how to locate that feature and use it.
1. STEP 1: log-in to your GMail account
2. STEP 2: at the bottom of the page, locate the “details” link and click it.

3. STEP 3: locate and click the “sign off” button from the pop-up window.

And that’s all there is to it. GMail will actually tell you IF there are other sessions currently online. In the same breath it advises you while there seems to be no other on-line instances, it is still adviseable to click that sign off button nonetheless.
Gmail’s just getting better thru the years!
