Picasa Tip : Changing album covers
I’ve been playing around with Google’s Picasa these past days, and I’m loving it. I must admit that I’m slowly becoming a solid fan because this online tool is so easy to use.
It’s easy to setup your own picasa account, in minutes you can literally set-up and begin posting your photos online! To get you started, visit this page.
OK, now assuming you have an account and have uploaded your first batch of photos in an album. Let me share with you how you can now make one of your photos as the album cover.
1. Select or enter the album you would like to edit.
2. Now that you have all the album pictures in front, look to the left of the screen and locate the “choose album cover” link.

3. Now choose the photo you would like to be the album cover and click “choose photo”
And instantly, you will notice that the album cover will change to the photo you just chose.
This is a neat way to keep your photos organized. The album photo cover is an important picture that will describe your album’s picture collection. If you just had a recent vacation trip to Disneyland, a photo of the main disney logo or its gate will describe it far better than a photo of your kid riding a carousel. Or if you’ve just had a birthday, wouldn’t a picture of your birthday cake (minus the candles) be more appropriate?
Google’s Picasaweb just makes things better to use and see. Until next the next picasa tip, then!

I’ve actually created covers by putting a photo onto a jpeg of a book and then using a graphics package to write on the spine. Setting these as covers gives my picasa albums a good, consistent look and makes them easier to find.
Now, if only google will enhance Picasa so that we can move our albums around to be in chronological order…
