Recommended Wordpress plugin – Smart YouTube

youtube.gifRecently I decided to start posting some of the more helpful videos I find on YouTube, you may have noticed my first one on Google Analytics. But with so many YouTube plugins available I wasn’t sure where to start.

Only thing I did know is I wanted posting videos to be really simple.

I certainly didn’t want to have to test more than a couple so I asked my Twitter friends which one was best and a few minutes later I had installed Smart YouTube. It has all kinds of useful features like colored borders and embedding in your feed, but what I really like is how simple it is to add a video into a blog post. To post a video you simply paste in the URL of the YouTube video and add a ‘v’ to the ‘http’ portion of the URL, that’s it!

For example: httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00000000

What could be easier? If you are looking to post YouTube videos on your blog, I highly recommend trying this one out, it’s perfect for my use!

    Or you could just compose posts with the visual editor turned off as standard, then copy and paste the embed code. It’s no more work than copying or pasting the url! Turning off the visual editor allows a bit more control over your posts too.
