I use GMail For The Important Things

I’m of the opinion that online professionals like me prefer to have their data and information always accessible, and always on hand, no matter if one is on the road, at one’s office, or even at home. I’ve always been a strong advocate of reliability and consistency. I require myself to always set this as a personal goal in whatever I do. My online life is a strong testament to this. Whatever I do online, either for business, liesure or personal growth, I make sure I am reliable and the tools I use should be as reliable, consistent and strong.

This is why I love working with GMail.

I’ve been a GMail user since day 1. I remember how I would hunt for friends who currently own GMail accounts so that I can receive an invite. Sure, Gmail is now public, but when the service started each account was limited to five invites only. I’ve heard 100% raves about how GMail operates, everytime a friend says he’s having the perfect online time I get very jealous.

When I finally got an invite, I checked it out fully. I never thought it would be very easy to use!

And now, I use Gmail for everything. It’s not only for my email correspondence, but most of my reminders, to-do lists and contacts are on Gmail. And while my work required me me to use a company owned domain name and email service, I find myself still preferring to use GMail, not only for personal correspondence, but even for business emails. My boss kept asking me to use the email system we had. After a few months, I caught him using GMail for most of his email correspondence.

I’d be brave to tell I use GMail for Paypal. Yes I do! I thought a GMail is the perfect online commerce companion because it is so safe to use. I use it to access my “online loot”. From shopping in Amazon, eBay and even airline reservations, I use GMail. My YouTube, Meebo, Twitter & Yahoo account all use GMail either as primary or secondary email references. It has never failed me and I think it will hold up until Kingdom come.

Now I’ve set up Gmail such that it’s my universal inbox. So for all correspondence, including business ones, Gmail is the only email client I use.

For the newbies who haven’t tried the wonderful world of emailing thru GMail, I dare you. Once you’ve tried it, there’s no reason to leave this awesome tool behind.

It’s as easy as hitting www.gmail.com and clicking the “Sign up for GMail” link. I envy those who are getting GMail easy, in my days I had to hunt for an invite. I even remember GMail invites being sold at EBay for US$10 or even more (highway robbery, if you ask me)! Being on Gmail was really cool back then. Better now because you sign up anytime.

In this case, the best things in life really came at an awesome price! Being free makes such a great tool priceless.

No wonder Google is always on top of everything. It just knows how to play life really well.

Great post! I too love email. I only wish more of my friends and colleagues would join too so that they could share my features, and join me in Google Chat!
