An in-depth fascinating article appeared in the New York Times last week about Andy Rubin who is Google’s “director of mobile platforms”.   In other words, he is the man overseeing the design and eventual launch of the Google mobile phone.    From the sound of the article, he looks like exactly the right guy to be overseeing what could end up being Google’s most important product.

I mean, if you need a retinal scan to get inside his house and he has a gong & robotic arm as a doorbell then you can rest assured that he knows his stuff, from a technical / gadget point of view.

Just as long as we don’t need a retinal scan to unlock our phones!
