This for those of you who swear by Google Finance to watch the financial market or your favorite companies:
iGoogle just added a Google Finance Tab. Here’s a guide on how to get your Google Finance tab and brief tour on what you will see.

First, point your browser to [http://tinyurl.com/yqgnqd]. This will point you to a shared iGoogle Finance tab, with a button on the right side that will let you add the Google Finance tab to your personalized iGoogle page.

After adding the new Google Finance tab, you will be taken back to your personalized iGoogle page showing the Google Finance tab. Here’s what it would look like after:

Though at first glance the Google Finance tab would seem as simply a collection of simple Google Finance – published iGoogle gadgets, the fact is that it includes some gadgets that are not (yet) available in the Gadgets directory. The following gadgets compose the Google Finance Tab:

• Google Finance portfolios
• Top Movers
• Sectory Summary
• The Main Google Finance gadget
• Related Companies
• Company Sector / Industry
• Company Overview
• Mini Charts

Refer to the screenshot to get glimpse of these gadgets in the Google Finance tab.

Sync functionality in some of the gadgets

The last four gadgets mentioned above features a special synching functionality, and this is how it works. When you change the stock symbol in one of these gadgets and you press go, all the other gadgets in the Google Finance tab that has their sync turned will display relevant information about the company with that stock symbol. Though the simplicity of this functionality is easy to miss, it’s actually a clever design.

When you’re all done, you will now have your own personalized Google Finance center right in your iGoogle personalized page. This is another step towards a more personalized Google Finance.
