Joost has made a pretty handy Google search parameters cheat sheet that many of you may find useful.

What are search parameters you ask?

Search parameters are little bits of code in the search url that make Google do different things with your search - restrict the search to one site, find secret videos, search by date, etc. Usually you trigger these by how you search but you can get Google to do a bit more if you play with the url.

My only gripe with Joost’s list is it’s in PDF format, and it’s pretty far from complete as far as I can tell. With a quick search or two I was easily able to find many more parameters listed right on Google’s site.

Here’s more parameters for Google’s SOAP API and a few more for their Search Protocol XML reference.

I’m not sure all those will work simply by entering them in the search url, but I’m betting quite a few will. I’m also betting Joost will test them out for us and update his cheat sheet :)
