Quick Google Calendar Tip: Drag and Drop to Move Events
Yesterday we gave a tip on how to select days on Google calendar by clicking and drag-and-drop on the mini-calendar to the left of the main view. Today, our quick tip involves moving around events by dragging and dropping.
In month or week view (or several days view), simply click on an event and drag it to another day, and it will be moved to that day (with the same time details).
Say we have an event dated April 16th. While in multi-day view (without the time view).

I can move the event to April 15th by dragging the event to that date.

Google calendar will then take a moment, and then save the new event details. It’s all AJAX so there’s no need to refresh the page or anything.

Now if you’re in a view where the time is indicated (e.g., day view, or several days’ view, up to one week view), you can drag the event to another day and even move the time.
Say the event I moved to April 15th occurs 9 a.m..

I can move it to April 16th at 11 a.m. by dragging it under the April 16th column towards the 11 a.m. row.

You can also drag to a different time on the same date, if you want to move the time of the event, but not the day.
