When forewarding the external email to Gmail the SPAM filter obviously checked it. I rarely had any SPAM in my inbox. After changing from forewarding to fetching NO SPAM is caught automatically.... remember also you must have language set as us english!! this worked fine for me, but the amount of SPAM in my inbox rocketed.
