Spanning Sync Public Beta Now Online
It’s a dream come true for Google and Mac lovers. While previously you could only do a one-way syncing of Google Calendar with your MacOS’ iCal, now you can do a full synchronization with Spanning Sync.
The Spanning Sync blog actually announced that the public beta was open, but their servers were then flooded with traffic and went offline shortly thereafter. With some help from sponsors, the service is back online, and the beta has been opened to the public.
Today at 14:35 GMT (9:35a ET/6:35a PT) we quietly reopened the public beta of Spanning Sync. The new server infrastructure seems to be handling the load well so far, but we’re keeping a close eye on it. HundredsThousands of new beta testers have started using the system and we’re already getting some very valuable bug reports and feedback.
To participate in the beta, just download Spanning Sync v1.0b12 (if you haven’t already), install it, and log in using your Google Calendar account name. If you haven’t yet set up Google Calendar, you’ll need to do that first.
Of course, being a beta users are warned that things can easily screw up. Spanning Sync has announced the release of version 1.0 beta 13, which is supposed to fix some issues, but problems can still crop up.
There is no need to actually go to the Spanning Sync site to sign up. You just need to download the latest version (link here) and install. Then, you have to key in the Google username that corresponds to your Google Calendar account and password.
That’s it! No separate logins. No separate login pages. Spanning Sync will then search its database if you already have an account in the Spanning Sync database. If not, it will create one for you.
You will then have to define which Google Calendars will correspond to which particular iCal calendar. This is supposed to be a one-to-one correspondence. You can also change the frequency of syncing. The default is 10 minutes.
If there are conflicts, Spanning Sync allows you to choose between the Google calendar version or the iCal version, and will change accordingly.
Spanning Sync is free for now, as it’s still in beta. But once it goes into full version, the service is likely to charge for subscription.

I realize that this is off-topic, but I really need to know how to contact Blogger’s assitance (if there is any) out of the forums. I unse Blogger with FTP on my site, can’t switch to beta and always get “Blog published with errors” messages, and today I couldn’t post because it timed out when load my graphiscs. I’m getting mad. Help, please!

I already subscribe to the user group, but being far too crowded, it id hard to find for the info you need.
What about splitting it at least in local (national) help groups so to help out that vast majorty of users that are not at ease with English?
