Live Pagerank Checker
Rumor has it that Google has again updated pageranks just recently. This is done several times per year, but even most Google insiders don’t know when the update actually takes. Users and webmasters will just notice their sites’ pageranks falling or rising. This can be based on observation (sudden changes in positioning in the search engine result pages) or using pagerank-checking tools.
One such tool for checking pagerank is pr.blogflux.com. What’s great about this tool is that it generates code you can copy to your site or blog that automatically brings up a button to represent your pagerank.
Blogflux says Google Tutor has a pagerank of 5:

This is limited, though, since it’s more or less static. Another good tool I’d recommend is livepr.raketforskning.com. This is a live pagerank checker, which will query several Google datacenters and present the resulting pagerank accordingly. Usually you would be able to observe when Google is updating pageranks when you notice discrepancies in PR figures from the different datacenters.

Then again, while pagerank is one major indicator used when citing statistics, bloggers and webmasters are usually advised that pagerank is not the sole determinant of positioning in search results. It’s still the keyword density and other on-site optimizationshttp://www.googletutor.com/search/seo (such as appropriate use of TITLE tags).
