What about all the recipes for distilling moonshine or cooking up controlled substances? The numerous guides to hacking, fraud, confidence tricks and social engineering? Almost every bit of human knowledge is out there somewhere, as you rightly point out - along with a lot of conjecture, flim-flam and outright lies. I think it says something important about humanity that we're not in a much worse situation than we already are - in other words, that most people are basically *good*. The bad people are always going to find a way to do bad - and sadly their usual method appears to be by getting involved with politics or religion.
