More Naughty Finds on Google

Looks like we caught the interest of a reader of ours with our naughty (or bad, in a terrorist kind of way) Google finds–and he’s aptly named Armchair Anarchist. Here are more naughty Google finds for you armchair anarchists out there. One caveat, though. If you do search, I suggest you steer clear of actually doing the stuff you find online. Who knows, thinngs might just backfire–like a nuke exploding in your kitchen!

(Of course, these are all just for fun, won’t you think?)

Kill with your bare hands. You must have been watching too many Chuck Norris movies if you have on top of your Google searches instructions on how to kill with your bare hands. Fortunately (or unfortunately), Google does have all sorts of ways to kill with bare hands, including a result that gives you 22 ways to do so.

Create nerve gas. Suicidal cult members would be happy to learn that instructions and lists of ingredients for making nerve gas are freely available online. You’d have to dig deeper for this, though, since the first few results don’t actually have instructions on how to make this very lethal poison. Fortunately for the rest of us, the first results do tell how to better survive an attack (such as one by social misfits like you!).

Homemade shotgun. Not as explosive as a homemade grenade, but a shotgun is potentially the most dangerous close-range weapon when handled properly. Okay, probably not the best to teach terrorst wannabes and armchair anarchists, but yes there are lots of ways you can make shotguns yourself and Google points out lots of sites that tell you how.

So does this mean Google is bad, and is the Internet evil? Well, we don’t necessarily think so. It’s the people who do crazy stuff that are dangerous. Google, just like any other tool, can be used for evil ends. So be good, folks!

Ah, but you’re missing out on the potential for economic and culturally subversive terrorism! What about all the recipes for distilling moonshine or cooking up controlled substances? The numerous guides to hacking, fraud, confidence tricks and social engineering? Almost every bit of human knowledge is out there somewhere, as you rightly point out - along with a lot of conjecture, flim-flam and outright lies. I think it says something important about humanity that we’re not in a much worse situation than we already are - in other words, that most people are basically *good*. The bad people are always going to find a way to do bad - and sadly their usual method appears to be by getting involved with politics or religion.

Thanks for the mention, by the way - but if you were going to take the p*ss you could have at least thrown me a link! ;)

Hello Armchair Anarchist. Sorry for not including a link earlier. Post now updated to link to your site!

No problems - it’s appreciated, if unexpected. Keep on keeping on, BTW - it’s a useful thing you do here.
