Yesterday I linked everyone off to Matt’s PageRank post. I figured it was worth a mention because I can’t really remember him discussing PR in depth like that publicly…ever really.

But then I got to thinking…

  • Matt is talking about PR!?
  • Telling us about a PR update
  • Answering specific questions on PR

Wait a minute…

…did everyone one forget PR was Google’s holy grail?

…has the world gone mad? wait, I know, it must be bizarro Matt, right? Wrong.

There’s two important things going on here:

  • Toolbar PR doesn’t matter anymore so why not discuss it openly?
  • Toolbar PR doesn’t matter anymore so why not keep webmasters focusing on it…at the expense of other things…

Nice job Matt, even I was staring a the green bar again for a minute there!
