Matt Cutts answers PageRank questions
The other day Matt replied to some reader questions about PR and the recent update, its worth a quick read.
There are some interesting questions like:
Philipp Lenssen asks: “Matt, I often wonder, how is the PageRank value stored internally, is it a floating-point number as many people suggest or is it just the integer value itself due to the heavy recursive PR computations?”
and
New Jersey SEO asked: “Will this PR update affect SERPs? Are we going to have also a SERP data refresh / update?”
I probably should have asked him why it looks like Google Tutor is dropping to PR5 when we have more high quality (and high PR) backlinks than ever. I don’t fret over it, but it is a little annoying ![]()
