Improve Searching with More Search Results per Page

There is an overlooked search preference that I have changed to improve my Google searching. You’ll find it in the Preferences settings that you can get to from nearly any Google search page. It’s the Number of Search Results, which defaults to 10 results per page. I find that with only 10 results per page that I am usually scrolling through many pages of search results. Why not just display more to start with? On the Search Preferences page, look for the Number of Search Results area:

You can make this setting 10,20,30,50 or 100 results per page. I like to set it to 100, but 50 might be enough for some. It does take a bit more time for Google to display the results, but then again you don’t have to keep clicking to go forward and backward through as many pages.

Extra related tip: Make a change the Search Language section to only search for pages in languages that you understand. This can thin the search results down quite a bit.

For the love of Christ, can someone tell me why I can not sucessfully change the number of image search results per page?? I have accessed the setting through “preferences” on my google.com page and no matter what I change the setting to, it still returns only 10 results per page!! I would guess that it was my computer or my browser, but it is the same with Firefox on my home computer as it is with Explorer on my work computer. I am able to successfully change other preferences (SafeSearch, language, etc.) so why not this one?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Another overlooked gem is that DATERANGE function

you can narrow the Time Span of a Search to pages updated during a particular period

    for e.g
    daterange:2450958-245300

    in Julian date formats

“… can someone tell me why I can not sucessfully change the number of image search results per page?? “

Because the people at google are self-centered liberals, period. I have told them at least 10 times over the course of 5 years that limiting IMAGE search results to just 20 is ASSININE.
