Google, Yahoo, YaGoohoo!gle or GahooYoogle?

Google? Yahoo? Google? Yahoo? Which to use for searches? Well, you know I like Google best, but sometimes it’s worth using Yahoo as well. But, why choose when you can YaGoohoo!gle or GahooYoogle?

That’s right, I said YaGoohoo!gle. Asgeir S. Nilsen of Norway wrote a “dual search engine” as an April Fools Day prank last month, which is becoming quite popular because people have found that it’s actually useful. With his search engine YaGoohoo!gle you can get side-by-side search results from Google and Yahoo!, with Google on the left and Yahoo! on the right.

Not only can this be useful, but it’s interesting to see how each service returns different results in its selection, its display, its truncation and so on. The results are not as similar as you might suspect.

If you use Firefox you can quickly add YaGoohoo!gle to the search box with this quick search plugin.

Now, if you’d prefer to get Yahoo on the left and Google on the right, don’t YaGoohoo!gle, but instead GahooYoogle. Seriously, it’s another dual search engine.

I use GahooYoogle all the time,. but for some reason it has one search item (in Images) I visited permanently appearing in the search box every time I start it up. How do I delete that item so I have a clean search history box?
