The previous writer has it backwards. Without quotes you get the opening lines. With quotes you get the word in context.

In Google News, search for a word and the results show each found item along with the word in context. Put quotes around the word and you get the opening lines of each news story instead. Wonder if this is intentional or just a quirk.

The "Share your customized news with a friend" link can actually be valuable in creating custom news pages for yourself.

For instance, let's say you do intensive news research and want the topics spread across different Google News pages so you don't have an overload of information on a single page. Just create a custom view on the broad topic and save (bookmark) the "shareable" URL. Repeat.

Sure the cookie in your browser may only load one by default, but that does not limit the number of custom news pages.
